In this therapy, a light emits light rays, imitating sunlight used. It is said that sitting near it for 20 to 30 minutes in the morning can promote your mood, improve your concentration and fight discomfort in SAD emotional disorders (SAD).
It is believed that about one fifth of the person who experienced a decreased mood in the winter and these light boxes can become an antidote. Light works by targeting the cause – disturbing in the biological rhythm associated with changes in darkness and sunlight. A study even found that light therapy could be effective as an antidepressant in SAD treatment with fewer side effects.
Should you try it?
If your blue is light, try sunlight first because it’s natural and free. Resting outside or in the window can make you feel more alert, focus and can improve your mood. If it’s winter, you can also try bright light therapy.
