Quickest and easiest coping strategies to overcome anxiety

Anxiety often comes from spiraling thoughts, which can be anything from a triggering event in the past to fear of a future event with too many ‘what if’s. worrying.

Bringing your mind back to the present moment can help reduce anxiety. Use the 5-5-5 technique – 5 objects, 5 sounds and 5 movements.

Name 5 things you see around you. Next, listen to 5 different sounds in your background. Finally, move any 5 body parts, such as shaking your head, rotating your shoulders, rotating your ankles, etc. By the end of this exercise, you will hopefully feel much better.
