As IPL 2025 approaches, franchises are done retaining players, with many top players participating in the mega auction. Below is the full list of cricketers competing in Dubai this year.
With IPL teams officially announcing the retention of their players, the stage is set for the much-awaited IPL Mega Auction 2025. Big names like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and Pat Cummins have been retained by their respective franchises, but others, including Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Mitchell Starc and KL Rahul, have was released and will now join the auction pool.
This means that the IPL Mega Auction 2025 will give franchisees the opportunity to develop new talent or bid for some of the tournament’s most experienced stars.

List of players available for IPL Mega Auction 2025
Defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders made a surprising move of releasing their title-winning captain, Shreyas Iyer, ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. However, they used it all strategically. all six of their positions to retain a strong core of players, including mystery spinners Sunil Narine, Varun Chakravarthy, Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, Ramandeep Singh and Harshit Rana. Similarly, Rajasthan Royals have chosen to retain their entire quota of six players, ensuring they have a solid foundation going into the new season. Check out the list below.
