(Image source: Instagram/mimles) Optical illusions are certainly confusing, but then we often attribute them to the clever use of Photoshop or other AI image editing tools. However, some people are talented enough to fool us with realistic, lifelike optical illusions, in the most unusual places. One such example is seen in a viral Instagram video by artist Mimi Choi. Mimi uses makeup and other things to create works of art on her face and other parts of her body. This is not just a simple way of applying makeup to look beautiful but it is actually a skillful art of creating optical illusions. Mimi’s favorite subject is food. In the viral video, which has garnered 968k views, Mimi explores several food subjects that look real but are actually works of art on her body — a bowl of ramen on her head, her face Turn into a big burger or a bowl of fries. She also turns her legs into bananas, tomatoes, corn, and loaves of bread. “Truly the most wonderful, most artistically talented person I have ever seen in my life,” one social network user commented. “Wow, amazing skills, so beautiful. so scary,” another added. Mimi is a professional makeup artist based in Vancouver. “I’m drawn to this style because I have complete freedom to be creative and express myself in ways that I can’t express with words,” Choi told Vogue. “I feel this art form has so much potential and my imagination is the only limit.”
Choi said about her aesthetic: “My makeup style has been described as surreal, shocking, unpredictable and unusual.
