A rather intriguing puzzle caught our eye. This photo was found in a very old newspaper. The newspaper itself was discovered in the basement of a private house built in 1910.
Certainly the newspaper’s circulation at the time was quite large and it is possible that the picture or illusion existed in many copies. The newspaper itself was called “Odessa Herald”.
And now let’s get straight to the puzzle. Looking at the picture, what do you see?
Nothing special, just a soldier in military uniform looking into the distance. The story is that he (the soldier) arranged to meet his comrades at exactly 12 o’clock in the square.
The soldier was looking into the distance, hoping to find his comrades.
And now the puzzle. The artist claims that in the painting there are not one but two men – the soldier and his comrade. Can you find the second man in the picture? Where is he?
