Children in Africa have their own lives. They depend very little on their parents and have no food, but despite all this – African children are always smiling… Many children in Africa live on the streets and do not have parents.
Very often volunteers from all over the world come to countries in Africa and bring all kinds of food, household items, hygiene products and even drinking water. It is not easy to get drinking water in Africa.
Many volunteers remain impressed with these trips for a long time. More than twenty years ago, photographer John Carey decided to visit African countries. He had dreamed of traveling since he was a child and when he grew up, he decided to make his dream come true. The young photographer’s income is not much so he cannot afford to travel constantly.
The first country John visited was South Africa. The prosperous African country has impressed novice travelers. He then decided to go to one of the poorest countries on the continent
A trip to Somalia split John Carey’s life in half. Many children in Africa live in poverty, hunger, sleep on the streets, work overtime in all sorts of ways and grow up very early.
A young photographer meets a little girl on the street. John Cary took some pictures of the child and decided to give them to her parents. He was surprised to learn that the girl was homeless, living on the streets and eating raw from trash cans. Sometimes passersby feed her.
John Cary decided to help the girl. The only way out of this situation is to adopt the baby. Paperwork takes a lot of time. But thanks to his perseverance, John was able to take the Somali girl across the ocean.
The adoption process was difficult, stressful, full of hope, and completely changed her usual way of life. For the first time, the girl could not adapt to the new environment. In addition, she does not know the language at all. John helped her overcome all challenges.
