Celebrity worship syndrome is an addictive obsessive disorder in which a person becomes overly interested in the life of a famous person. It is an extreme feeling when a person feels overly attached to a famous person. According to the Celebrity Attitude Scale, there are three levels of this phenomenon: entertainment-social, intensely personal, and borderline-pathological.
Social-entertainment is the least relevant type of celebrity worship because it involves a relatively low level of obsession.
Intense individuals are intermediate levels of obsessions associated with neurosis as well as behaviors associated with psychosis.
Finally, borderline pathology is the most severe level of celebrity worship as it involves pathological attitudes and behaviors including a willingness to commit crimes on behalf of celebrities or a willingness to spend money on products that celebrities use, etc
