Firefighters rescued 8 puppies from a sewer, but it turned out they weren’t puppies at all

The fire department, run by Brian Vaughan, received a call. The caller said there were 8 puppies in the storm drain but he couldn’t get them out himself, he needed help or they would die. The man saw black Labrador puppies, most likely abandoned in the gutter by indifferent owners.

The fire department received the call and immediately went to the scene. In 20 minutes, they got the puppies out. Luckily no one was injured, everyone was safe.

The only thing that confused the rescuers was that they didn’t look like puppies at all.

“The puppies were taken to an animal rescue organization, located near Pikes Peak. After being examined by a veterinarian, it was discovered that they were newborn fox cubs.

Travis Sauder, director of Colorado Parks and Wildlife, said foxes are common residents in their area. And they often choose unsuitable shelters such as manholes and sewers to breed.

After consideration, the experts decided to bring the “find” back and wait for the mother’s return. Otherwise, they will be taken to a wildlife rehabilitation center.

And here is a short video of the rescue operation.
