55% Indians are getting less than six hours of uninterrupted sleep: Survey

The survey found that Indians’ sleeping patterns have worsened over the past 12 months. When was the last time you had 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep without distractions? Has your sleep changed since the COVID-19 pandemic hit us? To find out the current sleeping habits of Indians, LocalCircles, a local social media community, conducted a national study on ‘How India sleeps’ to mark World Sleep Day (17 March). The study received over 39,000 responses from 309 districts across the country and found that the sleeping patterns of Indians have worsened over the last 12 months and most of us are sleeping less since last year.Is your sleep also disturbed?

The survey mentioned: “To understand whether some sleep disruptions caused by COVID are temporary in nature permanently and to find out how Indians are sleeping three years into the pandemic, we conducted a nationwide study.” Compared to last year, research shows that the proportion of people sleeping less than six consecutive hours has increased over the past 12 months from 50% in 2022 to 55% today.
